Today, dog owners will tell you that their companion occupies a considerable place in their life. That they would no longer see themselves living other than with this ball of fur. So much so that some people buy them clothes, take them in strollers and, above all, pay great attention to their daily well-being. At the risk of forgetting certain primary needs and tending a little too much towards anthropomorphism.

While this seems normal to many of us, it turns out that not so long ago the dog did not occupy this place. It was in fact more akin to that of a guardian, a protector or a helper at work.

Is the dog a fashion accessory? What are the risks of adopting one without finding out beforehand? From Japan to Los Angeles, what are dog owners like abroad? Are races gendered? And a whole bunch of other questions that Mylène Bertaux asked herself before writing her book “Toutetoute. To hear his answers, listen to the full interview.
