“Along the water”, a book that makes you want to go on a cruise

Since her first cruise on the Rhine, Françoise Surcouf has made others. His favorite? “The one who took her from Prague to Berlin aboard a shallow-draft paddle steamer”. But she was seduced by all the routes because, “from the water, the view of the countries crossed is different, the impressions too”.

As for Axel Araszkiewicz, who has accompanied journalists countless times on cruises, he wanted to share “without restraint his experiences”.

For their book, the two authors have selected twenty different itineraries, always on small capacity boats Who “promote meeting and exchange” : no more than 22 passengers in effect on barges which go on the canals; and no more than 196 on the boats that sail the sea. We are far from the “sea giants“sometimes so criticized today!

By joining their two feathers, Françoise Surcouf and Axel Araszkiewicz have written, for each route, “a real logbook” which highlights, day after day, the cities, sites, museums, natural beauties and other wonders encountered.

Concretely, the project was carried out with the complicity of Croisieurope : for convenience, it was easier and faster to go through a single company. In addition, the company had the advantage of navigating on canals, rivers and the sea.
