A three-voice story

The story begins with the final scene and before revealing the bottom line of the affair, Thierry Colombié delivers a story in which everyone speaks one moon before the final scene, in Rashomon. Rashomon, comes from the title of a Kurosawa film made in 1950. The idea is to tell a story from several points of view. In A Corsican legend, there are three of them: a crook, Paul, known as Le Triste; an informant or repentant, Sidore, known as Le Sid; and Stella, a police investigator.

These three points of view all converge on an inevitable end, that of a Corsican Godfather, Toussaint Venturini, known as Santu. And in their words the same Corsican “proverb” always recurs: “e Corsica totre strappanu“.

“e corsican torte strappanu” means: crooked things break. The expression is often used when things go wrong, when they get tangled like 1000 leaves which end up exploding. You should know that this expression “e corse torte strappanu” is very widespread in the industry. We twist someone’s word, we twist their arm too, obviously, we do it backwards, etc. So I had fun playing with these words to express what we could define as a mafia opera.

A “mafia opera” constructed from a news item, or a true detective film whose author has already made a trailer.
