Whether you are a reader of thrillers, historical novels, theater or even comic strips, you should find what you are looking for this Saturday, November 2 at the “Read for all and all for reading” book fair, in the shopping arcade of the Intermarché of Bourg-Achard (Eure).

For its third edition, the event is organized not as in previous years by the Dahu editions based in Bouquetot, but by the small publishing house Skjaldmö created in 2022 in Thénouville by Séverine Courard-Vieuxbledspecialized in the publication of works written by Norman authors and in the Norman language. It is therefore no coincidence that the Book Fair welcomes 35 Norman authors and publishers. “All literary genres are represented. There is something for everyone,” assures Séverine Courard-Vieuxbled. This former journalist has already published eleven books with her publishing house.

A couple of writers

Among the authors present, some live in the surrounding area. This is the case of Yvan Michotte and Nathalie Sauvage, a couple from Montfort-sur-Risle. For several years, their works have been published by Cargo Imaginaire, a house founded by Yvan Michotte. Nathalie addresses the children. In 2020, she released her debut album Issa and Matis. A little book that she describes as “tender and moving”.

Embellished with children's expressions so that the story is realistic, it also includes “cursive writing (simplified, Editor's note)” to allow little ones to learn to read. Yvan Michotte has already published around ten works. A fan of the detective genre, the author and former professor of French and history and geography draws his inspiration from historical facts.

The writer Jean-François Naizot also lives in Montfort-sur-Risle. Grandson of a resistance fighter arrested in and deported, Jean-François Naizot became known in 2020 through the book 6304 which tells the unique story of his resistance grandfather, Eugène Naizot, arrested in 1943 by the Gestapo. 6304 was his grandfather's registration number.
