A little over a year after the release of The symphony of monsters, Marc Levy returns with a new novel, The library of banned books still published by Robert Laffont/Versilio.

In his latest work, the successful novelist tackles the heavy subject of authoritarianism and literary censorship, not unlike the theme of Fahrenheit 451, iconic dystopian anticipation novel by Ray Bradbury, published in 1953.

Mitch, a passionate bookseller, sees his life turned upside down when he is arrested one morning. His crime? sell banned books. After five years behind bars, he wants more than anything to regain his freedom and his business. In this new life that begins, the bookseller meets the prosecutor who had him convicted and meets Anna, a young chef who could well be the woman of his life. Between the desire for love and revenge, Marc Levy offers a committed comedy in this new novel.
