This is an operation that began in 2021. Since that year, the Department, in partnership with Caf and the MSA, has provided a book to parents welcoming a newborn or adopted child with the “First pages” operation. “. For this new edition, this is the book Small Worldsby Agnès Domergue and Clémence Pollet who was chosen after “consultations” between the partners. “It was a democratic debate to choose the book”smiles the departmental advisor in charge of culture, Maria Conquet.
Chloé Danillon, vice-president, delegate for children adds: “There is a selection for books. We carry out this work with media libraries and communities. The goal is to familiarize yourself with reading.”
When will parents receive this new book? The distribution began this Monday, October 14 and will end on February 14, 2025. Each family having welcomed a child, born or adopted in 2023, will receive a letter inviting them to collect the album from one of the many distribution locations.
