FIRST STAR – DYLAN GUENTHER, AD, UTAH HOCKEY CLUB
Guenther led the NHL with five goals in three games (5-0—5) to help the Utah Hockey Club (3-0-0) have a perfect first week. Utah became the second franchise in League history to win its first three games (after VGK in 2017-18).
Guenther paced Utah’s season opener with two goals, including the first in team history 4:56 into the game, en route to a 5-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on October 8.
He again scored twice as Utah came from behind twice before defeating the New York Islanders 5-4 in overtime on October 10. It was Guenther who settled the debate in overtime, scoring his second career goal in overtime. The young forward became the fifth player in history to record more than one goal in a new franchise’s first two games – but the first to do so since the NHL’s inaugural season in 1917-18.
Guenther added another goal in a 6-5 overtime win against the New York Rangers on October 12.
