“We are tired, but we are very happy. » Nadine Pierre, president of the Livres et plus fair, seems particularly satisfied. The annual literary meeting in Alençon (Orne) ended on Sunday October 13, 2024 after a week of meetings and readings.

The meeting platforms in force

Among the highlights that worked the most were the meetings with the authors. “On the seven sets, we brought together a total of 650 people, we are very happy. »

The conference by Michka Assayas and Alexandre Fillon on music particularly worked, as did that of Jérôme Fourquet around the question of political opinions.

Two hundred people at the musical readings

Two musical readings, that of Véronique Ovaldé, author of Angry girl on a stone bench and Alexia Stresi, author Tomorrows that sing were scheduled at the start of the week. They also moved the crowds: “We had two hundred people, including one hundred and ten for Véronique Ovaldé. »

Christophe Brault’s conference around the Woodstock festival in 1969 also attracted people: “There were a hundred people and we had to refuse some because it was subject to registration and we no longer had any space. »

A salon “on a human scale”

“We were full”announces Nadine Pierre regarding shows for children. The only downside is the Thursday evening cinema session with the screening of the film. Regain by Marcel Pagnol, which only attracted thirty-five spectators. “Maybe it was the fourth night in a row, and people were tired. »

The organizer remains particularly satisfied with the attendance and feedback from the event. “The public was present, and the authors came to tell us that they really liked the show, particularly its conviviality and its human dimension. It’s a year of work, but it results in a week where we meet great people. »
