The book fair was a success

Saturday, April 27, the group of local initiatives organized its first book fair in collaboration with the Au Plaisir des Mots bookstore and the Montjolivre reading club, in the Grenette room.

Throughout the day, around thirty authors received dozens of visitors, often coming with family, for interesting and warm exchanges. The organization was particularly efficient with the stands and then a central checkout manned by the bookstore team.

Varied objective

Finally, in addition to the presentation and sale of books, the day was marked by readings for different audiences. All for a result that the organizers described as particularly positive; a 2025 edition is therefore already being considered. For the two booksellers, Viviane Pitavy and Marie-Pierre Jouve, the key word was variety. Thus, among the themes covered, we can cite nature, children’s books, those evoking the regional territory and its stories or, of course, thrillers particularly appreciated by Montjolivre members.

The leader of the club and its members had an original idea by inviting the chocolatier Fort, from Saint-Julien-d’Ance, for an event around the theme of Carré noir, that of the thriller, of which a selection was proposed, and the chocolate one.

At the end of the morning, the event had already been greeted by Marie-Agnès Petit, president of the Departmental Council, Christine Cartier, first deputy of Craponne and Michelle Prohet for Gil.
