The book and rose festival, for the International Book and Publishers Day, decreed by UNESCO, filled the library this Saturday, April 27 from 3 to 5 p.m. Thirty-five people from more or less nearby areas, some even coming from Chalabre and Antugnac, were present.

The organizers were overwhelmed by their presence and enthusiasm when listening to ancient legends; philosophical tales by Jean-Claude Carrière; the story of book burnings in medieval Spain presented by means of a kamishibai which reminds us that culture is susceptible to threats, just as much yesterday as today or tomorrow; or the story of a shepherdess sensitive to the invisible. The readings were given by Marc, Isis, Remke and Dominique, punctuated by pieces played by Sylvie on the cello. Information given by Odile and Marie-Claire on access to the Personal Digital Space allowed everyone to become aware of the cultural richness offered by this new service from the Aude Departmental Library.

Between the snack and the book exchange, this book-based activity played its role in promoting the pleasure of reading and human and material exchanges.

The municipal library volunteer team is already preparing for an upcoming event and will extend the invitation.
