On Sunday, September 29, a book will leave the Mazette bookstore in Mazères to arrive, carried from hand to hand, at the Détours bookstore in Nailloux. On the way, passing through Calmont and Montgeard, a few of you will just have to leave your house and pass the book to your neighbors.
You can also join this intrepid crowd by setting up on the trails or in the valleys with one idea in mind: to make sure this book arrives safely. On foot, running, by bike, on tractors, on a soapbox, everything is possible and we hope to have some surprises!
1 book with 2 hands
A book, but what book? A blank book, which will be written throughout the morning, made up of the titles of books that are close to your heart. At the end, a book of books.
This joyful bet is taking place within the framework of a literary festival on the theme of the hand initiated by theALIDO (the Association of Independent Bookstores of Occitanie).
Practically how it works: meet at the Mazette bookstore at 9:00 a.m. for the start and then wherever you want and whenever you can throughout the book’s journey.
The crossing of Calmont will take place around 10 a.m., that of Montgeard around 12 p.m. and the arrival in Nailloux is planned around 12:30 p.m. with a Spanish inn to celebrate after this crazy stroll.
On the way, so that you can be spotted and handed over: remember to wear colorful clothes and wave the ALIDO bookmark available from Mazette et Détours.”
