Galatasaray coach Okan Buruk made a statement at the press conference held after the Young Boys match.

Okan Buruk’s statements are as follows:

“We found solutions in training but our pace of play was not good in the match. It was bad that Davinson Sanchez was not there, we looked for him. Kaan Ayhan was not there for one match. Abdulkerim Bardakcı was not there for one match. We had difficulty carrying the ball forward from defense. If we could have made it 1-0 with Mauro Icardi, it would have been different. However, we conceded a goal on his return. We were not good in terms of play. We will set goals for ourselves in the Super League and UEFA Europa League. Our injured players will return. We will make at least two transfers. We will raise our heads, we will do better. The first responsibility here is always on me. We wanted to play in the Champions League but we will also try to get to the highest place we deserve in the Europa League.”

“WE ALSO EXPERIENCED IT IN THE FENERBAHÇE MATCH”

“This is the team that beat Manchester United. This is the team that continued in the Champions League last year. We had a lack of concentration. If we see the opponent as easy, it can be a problem. We experienced this in the Fenerbahçe match last year when the opponent was 10 men. We played very good against Bayern Munich. We won the derbies for two years. In some matches, we did not want it as much as our opponents, we did not fight. This is our biggest problem.

“WE WILL TRANSFER”

“After the Beşiktaş match, there is a world of difference between the game with Davinson Sanchez and the game without Sanchez. The reason for the defeat is not a player, but our job was much easier in terms of game-making. After he returns, we can think of reinforcing our defense line. We will make transfers, let me say that again.”

“ELIAS JELERT IS NOT READY”

“Before the match, everything was in order tactically for me. However, the performances were low on the field. We played very badly as a team in the first half. We lost incredibly easy balls. The opponent did incredible things, they may not have a game like this in their lives. The absence of Davinson Sanchez and Abdulerim Bardakcı affected. Elias Jelert is not fully prepared. This pushed me to different thoughts. You want to change some things after the match, but you look at it differently before the match.”
