For this year 2025, the City of Carcassonne has decided to reiterate its “Licence Scholarships” operation in order to provide financial support to young Carcassonne residents wishing to obtain their driving license.
© Illustration / In order to benefit from these grants, applicants must carry out or have already carried out a voluntary action in the municipality.
An operation implemented since 2006 and renewed again in 2025. “Permit scholarships”issued by the City of Carcassonne, allow many Carcassonne residents each year to benefit from financial assistance in their quest to obtain a driving license. This aid concerns B licenses but also AM licenses (two-wheelers) for young people aged 14 to 18.
What conditions?
These scholarships are awarded to young people under certain conditions. For those relating to permis B it's necessary :
- Be between 16 and 25 years old
- Living in Carcassonne for more than a year
- Not already registered in a driving school
- Have a volunteer action project, of at least 60 hours, to propose in one of these themes: sport, culture and artistic activities, social ties, humanitarian actions, city animation, solidarity, environmental protection, development sustainable, fight against disabilities and/or discrimination, animation of student life.
To participate in the scholarship at allowed AM :
- Be between 14 and 18 years old,
- Living in Carcassonne for more than a year
- Carry out a minimum of 10 hours of volunteering in a non-profit structure, based in Carcassonne (Volunteering can take place before or after the presentation of the file to the committee).
To participate, candidates must collect a registration form from the Campus Info, at 85 rue de Verdun, or download it from the site www.carcassonne.org. They then have until February 14 to come and drop it off complete.
