The date is now official: the Galaxy S25 Edge, a new Samsung smartphone model, will be presented on the night of May 12 to 13, during an online Galaxy Unpacked event. This new ultra-fine product, announced by the South Korean giant in January, intends to mark a new step in the quest for finesse and performance of high-end smartphones. “The Galaxy S25 Edge is not content to establish a new standard for what you can achieve with your smartphone, it also opens a new growth era for the mobile industry,” says Samsung on its site. The company confirms that the latest addition to the Galaxy S25 range will integrate, despite its finesse, a 200 MP camera, such as the current high-end Galaxy S25 Ultra model, as well as AI features.
Samsung has already opened pre -orders on its site, offering a small discount to its customers, before the official presentation.
But, a few days before this announcement, credible leaks have already lifted the veil on most of the characteristics of the device. They confirm those already unveiled at the end of April by the famous Leaker Evan Blass. Thus, the Galaxy S25 EDGE would only be 5.85 mm thick (against 7.2 mm for the Galaxy S25). For comparison, the future iPhone 17 Air, expected this fall, could do even better with a thickness of only 5.5 mm, depending on rumors.
The Galaxy S25 EDGE would also be equipped with a 6.7 -inch AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz image cooling rate, guaranteeing increased display fluidity. One of the latest generation processors, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, as well as 12 GB of RAM, would also be there. Due to the finesse of the device, the battery capacity should not exceed 3,900 mAh, as on the Galaxy S25, although its screen is as large as that of the S25 Plus model, which has a 4900 mAh battery.
