Swisscom, a “goat” that is worth its price.Keystone
A German site has decided: it is Swisscom the best operator in Switzerland, both in terms of 5G and telephony (and many others). But he does not hesitate to recognize it: it has a cost. Sunrise and Salt are also well rated.
According to the German tech site Chip, Swisscom is the best operator in Switzerland, ahead of Sunrise and Salt. Swisscom welcomed a press release:
“For the tenth time, Chip has appointed the Swisscom mobile network as the best in Switzerland”
Swisscom
The network wins in all categories: telephony, mobile internet, 5G, hotline and even mobile connection in SBB intercity. Swisscom thus has the fastest movement of mobile data between Switzerland, Germany and Austria: 50 megabits per second.
“The Swiss have the best networks in the German -speaking world,” said the site, which has tested with its Net Check partner. Well, this applies to Romandie too – we hope.
Three good networks
Swisscom is thus very close to “6” (or rather “1”, as the Germans note). But Sunrise and Salt are not outdone, according to Chip, which describes “two networks that work very well”. They drop out respectively a 1.26 and a 1.27. Roughly, a 5.7. I was bad.
“When it comes to the availability of 5G in cities and in the countryside, Swisscom appears to be the absolute reference”
Swisscom
According to the German site, Sunrise is however losing speed. The one who was still a few years ago at the shoulder-backing with Swisscom has clearly been overtaken, and is now very close by Salt.
“Salt has made significant 5G and mobile internet progress”

Interesting element: among the five largest cities in the country, the one where 5G coverage is the most complete is Geneva: 93.1% for Sunrise and 92.6% for Swisscom (79.5% for Salt). After Geneva, the cover performance is the best in Bern, Zurich, then Basel. And the one where it is the least: Lausanne (between 45.9 and 55.5%).
Everything has a price
And which is the best price? “Swisscom is the best in all areas, but it also has a price,” notes the expert, leaving the high prices of the Swiss N ° 1.
“If you prefer to turn to a lower price, you will certainly not make a bad choice”
