The construction of the second part of Cherpines district could still be late. A referendum has just been launched against the notice favorable to this localized neighborhood plan (PLQ), narrowly voted on April 15 by the City Council of Confignon. Nine elected officials spoke in favor of the notice, eight opposed it and one abstained. Their agreement was accompanied by Fifteen remarks and conditions.
At the origin of the launch of this municipal referendum, we find the Cherpines associations otherwise, Association for the backup of Confignon and surroundings (ASC), Geneva safeguard, supported by the association Nature et Patrimoine du Val d’Aire (ANPVA), the Association Qualitée d’A Vie Bernex and Confignon (ASbec), as well as the municipal section of the PLR and the Politics Group Tomorrow Confignon.
The latter regret that the conditions meant during the vote are not binding for the State. In particular, they fear that this project will end the municipality unreasonably and leads to a probable increase in the additional penny.
-Too many uncertainties
“On the overall PLQ of Cherpines, far too many questions still remain concerning funding, density, the environment and mobility. It is not successful, ”deplore the opponents in a press release.
They add: “This is why to oppose is today a necessity in order to obtain an eco -neighborhood in accordance with the cantonal vote for modification of the 2011 zone, respecting the environment of the area and with guaranteed funding not in debt for decades”.
The deadline for harvesting signatures is June 16, 2025.
