The 2025-2026 season of the Grand Théâtre de Genève (GTG), the 7th and last managed by Aviel Cahn, which will then take over the reins of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, will notably be marked by the trip to the Building Forces (BFM) in January, due to the renovation of the scene machinery. This work could last longer than one year, defended the president of the GTG foundation council on Thursday, Xavier Oberson on Thursday, in the preamble to the press conference of the next season.
This change of place during the season has influenced the programming. The season will open in the GTG walls with the Tannhaüser by Richard Wagner, in a staging by Tatjana Gürbaca, for a new reading – “less pornographic than that proposed by Olivier Pi in 2005”, commented Aviel Cahn. The Orchestra of French -speaking Switzerland (OSR) will be led by Mark Elder.
