The 30-year-old man, stabbed near the heart by one of his friends early Thursday morning, in the Saint-Laurent borough in Montreal, died in the hospital. It was the second murder to occur in the metropolis in just 36 hours.
The crime was committed around 4:15 am, in the hall of a building on Boulevard Décarie, near Beaudet Street.

The two men, who knew each other very well, would have had an argument for a still nebulous reason.
During the altercation, the 40 -year -old suspect would have drawn a knife to stab the victim at the thorax.
The blade would have stayed close to the heart and the blow turned out to be fatal. The victim’s death was found in the hospital shortly after.
According to our information, the man stabbed to death is Cedrik Emmanuel-Checette. The latter was awaiting his trial in a case of domestic violence and had some criminal history in armed assault and theft, in particular.

At crime scene, the police arrested the suspect, who was to be met by investigators during Thursday.
The individual, who owns a vehicle rental trade, according to his social networks, was not known to the police.
He could be accused of murder Thursday morning at the Montreal courthouse.

The investigators of major crimes, assisted by technicians in judicial identity, spent most of Thursday to analyze the places of the murder and to try to understand the circumstances of the tragic altercation.
It was the ninth murder to be committed in the metropolis since the start of the year and the second in as many days.
Tuesday evening, the young Makhai Bennett-Ruddock, only 16, was stabbed to death in the street in the Côte-des-Neiges district. His murderer has still not been arrested.
