As the Tabaski 2025 approaches, the Senegalese government is working to ensure a good organization of the party. However, the parking lot of the Léopold Sédar Senghor stadium, traditionally used as a foirail for the sale of sheep in Dakar, will not be accessible this year. The decision was announced Tuesday by the of Youth, Sports and Culture, Khady Diene Gaye.

On the sidelines of an inter -ministerial council devoted to the preparations for the Tabaski, scheduled for June 7, the minister explained that the sports infrastructure is currently in the approval phase with international bodies.

”The Léopold Sédar Senghor stadium has just been received. We have launched the stadium approval process with CAF and FIFA, so that we can welcome international meetings. And therefore, parking will not accommodate sheep this year for Tabaski” she said.

The meeting was held in the presence of the Minister of Food Sovereignty, Agriculture and Breeding, Mabouba Diagne, as well as the Outgoing Secretary General of the Government, Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô, who will pass the relay to Boubacar Camara.

Khady Diene Gaye also underlined the great sports ambitions of , specifying that the renovated stadium will soon house several major events.

”This stadium has the greatest capacity and can welcome several disciplines. Also, we want Senegal to play certain matches of the World Cup qualifiers in this stadium. It is for all these reasons that I seized the governor of Dakar and the Minister of Livestock to find other points of sale to breeders“She added.

For his part, the Minister of Agriculture, Mabouba Diagne, announced an increase in the number of points of sale of sheep in the Dakar region, which will drop from 35 to 40.

Ahmadou Al Aminou Lô, for his part, transmitted the orientations of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, who demanded a rigorous application of the exemptions from and on the sheep of Tabaski. These measures will apply to borders, on road axes, waiting areas and points of sale.

The Prime Minister also ordered the establishment of management committees, the opening of temporary water points in the authorized sales sites, as well as compliance with the consensual rates set between carriers and operators.

Finally, the Minister of Commerce has received an instruction to facilitate the supply of livestock food, in collaboration with the origins, by installing local stocks and ensuring the application of the recommended prices.
