AVM launches the Fritz! Box 4690 on the market, a new router supporting Wi-Fi 7 and the LAN 10 Gigabit for fast fiber optics connections.
AVM launched the FRITZ! BOX 4690, a new router adapted to fiber optical connections up to 10 Gbit/s and providing support for Wi-Fi 7. The device is now available at the recommended price of 319 euros, VAT included.
Wireless and wired
The Fritz! Box 4690 is designed to operate in combination with an optical fiber modem, a DSL modem or cable, or an existing router. Via Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6, the device provides combined wireless speeds up to 6.9 Gbit/s. In addition, the router has a WAN port of 10 Gbit/s, a 10 Gbit/s LAN port and three additional 2.5 gbit/s LAN ports for wired network equipment.
-The router also supports Wi-Fi mesh and VPN via Wireguard. Users can easily integrate devices such as printers or network storage via the integrated USB 3.0 port. In addition, a DECT base station is present, allowing to connect up to six phones and control various home automation devices via the FRITZ! OS interface or associated applications.
Application
The installation is carried out via the web interface or the Myfritz! App. After connection to a modem, the device distributes the Internet via Wi-Fi or wired connections. Thanks to the combination of rapid network specifications and the management of home automation, the device is suitable for applications rich in data such as games, video calls or virtual reality.
The Fritz! Box 4690 replaces the older models of the FRITZ! BOX 4000 series and includes all the features to which AVM products are used, such as parental control, a multimedia server, network storage and Wi-Fi access for guests.
