Macky and the “Others”: assumed opening against obsessive closure

2. Macky lies out, pleads for just partnerships, reformed international governance, climate justice. Meanwhile, the “others” turn their backs, close their ears, slam the door; They see in each embassy a threat, in each foreign journalist a double agent, and in each international trip or an audience granted to a foreign personality (case of Tony Blair) a betrayal of the fatherland, the project, and the “African” party. Instead of Berlin, they prefer the great theater, asking Israel to “stop”, when the real courage would have been to relay the constant call of Macky Sall for a reform of the United Nations system.
3. Macky dialogues with the world and offers fair rules, while others want to play without rules. Their dream? Break the system table … for lack of learning to play it. They brandish abstract sovereignty, forgetting that no nation wins alone, and that autarky has never taken off a country.

And while we justify the diplomatic immobility of the “others” by the revocations by the “project” of the “international tours“ useless ”, we lose ourselves in overflowing crowds between Ouaga, Nouakchott, Abidjan, Banjul and Bissau, as if tightening African-African hands made Africa speak and could compensate for the lack of vision. Africa does not need regional fairings. She needs leaders who speak to the whole world, negotiate the future of humanity and influence international opinions …
The size of a country is not measured by its ability to sulk, but to its ability to exist in the world without dissolving. Macky Sall understood this. “Others”, not yet. At this rate, they will have to send them a postcard… of the real world….
