The Brazilian government announced, last April, that Moroccan health authorities had validated a new international health certificate, updating the export conditions of beef from Brazil. This new agreement is expanding the scope of imported products by including the abuses and intestines of cattle, now eligible for entry into the Moroccan market, according to a statement recently published on the official website of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA).
In this communication, MAPA greets a strategic advance in the development of commercial relations between Brazil and Morocco, in particular in the agrifood products sector.
With a population of more than 37 million inhabitants, Morocco represents a high potential outlet for Brazilian exporters. In 2023, the kingdom imported more than $ 43 million in Brazilian agricultural products, positioning Brazil as its second supplier in this sector. In 2024, Brazilian agricultural exports to Morocco reached around $ 1.36 billion, including sugar, alcoholic drinks, cereals, flour, live animals and coffee.
This enlargement of exchanges reflects, according to the ministry, the growing recognition of the rigor of the Brazilian health system and control. It opens up new perspectives to Brazilian economic operators, allowing them to strengthen their presence on the Moroccan market and to consolidate the South-South partnerships in the food industry.
MAPA has also specified that this new homologation is part of the dynamics of opening new export markets for the year 2025. Since January 2023, 346 opportunities for access to foreign markets have been secured for Brazilian agricultural products.
