French Cup MX National 450
This Sunday, May 11
A 1,600 m circuit. 37 pilots. Two rounds of 25 minutes each. This Sunday, Verdun welcomes the elite of the Motocross 450. For this third French Cup test, the show promises to be grandiose since Tanguy Prost, originally from Épernay, will try to keep its red leading plate, acquired on May 4 in Sassay.
Lorrainers in ambush
But the pilot will have to be wary of the 36 other engaged on this circuit. Ludovic Macler (UM Bitche) did not say his last word after his second place last week. The Lorrain, former French MX1 champion, wants to be ambitious for this French Cup and points to third place in the provisional classification, four days from the end.
Another premises, Bryan Wlodarski, resident of the Verdun club and currently 17th in the French Cup classification, knows this Valtoline circuit perfectly. Just in front of him, Damien Sanzey, of the Saint-Mihiel club, is 16th.

A regional championship to complete the show
But Verdun also hosts another competition, just as important for Lorrainers: the Grand Est league championship. 158 pilots are engaged in different categories: 65cm3 (category of 8-12 year olds) and the trophies categories, including women and veterans. “We are doing more championships of the Grand Est usually,” notes Florent Neimer, president of the club. There, the Coupe de France is a very important event. We try to do the best to respect the rules and the track is approved ”. Recognized on the circuit, the Verdun club welcomed a round of the 125cc world championships … Forty years ago.
