Unfortunately, this is the 11th dead man identified on the roads of the Jura since the start of 2025. A 50-year-old biker lost his life on Thursday, May 8 around 6 p.m., in an in of the Lons-le-Saunier station.

A collision at the crossroads

The accident, involving a car and a motorcycle, at the crossroads between boulevard Gambetta and Avenue Aristide-Briand.

According to the elements of the investigation, the car was traveling boulevard Gambetta in the direction of Bourg-en-Bresse/Lons-le-Saunier before engaging on its left avenue Aristide Briand. The motorcycle was circulating Boulevard Gambetta, in the direction Perrigny/Lons-le-Saunier.

It was still too early Thursday evening to find out the exact circumstances of the accident. The investigation by the Lons-le-Saunier police will try to determine them.

Three free but shocked people

Ten firefighters from the Lédonian basin went there, accompanied by the SMUR of Lons, the national police, and the elected representative of Lons-le-Saunier, Anne Perrin. The driver of a vehicle had braked in front of the pedestrian crossing, causing a collision. The accident had not caused a serious injuries.
