The complete technical of the G56 motorcycle has surfaced before its launch, revealing all the technical details of the phone. Although there is a handful of major updates, the technical sheet reveals that Motorola will offer a variable software support time depending on the memory variant.

Motorola plans to unveil a handful of smartphones in the Moto G series, one of them is the G56 motorcycle. Before its launch, the complete technical sheet of the phone has surfaced online, revealing not only all its specifications, but also a surprising detail concerning the software support.

Posted on X by Evan Blass, the G56 motorcycle will be quite different from its predecessor, the G55 motorcycle (currently available on Amazon. For € 164.99). To begin with, the G56 will have an FHD+ 6.72 inch LCD+ screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, a brightness of 1000 Nits and protection in Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The G55 motorcycle has a 6.49 -inch screen with Gorilla Glass 5.

Motorola will once again stick to Mediatek this year, replacing the Dimensity 7025 processor of the G55 motorcycle with the Dimensity 7060, which has not yet been announced. The G56 motorcycle will be available in 4 GB and 8 GB of RAM versions, with 128 GB or 256 GB of storage. It will have a microSD card location allowing to add up to 2 TB of additional storage.

The G56 motorcycle will keep the double ultra-large camera of 50MP + 8MP of the previous generation, but it will abandon the frontal camera of 16MP for a 32MP sensor. Motorola has also increased battery capacity from 5,000mAh to 5,200mAh, and is expected to load a little faster with 33W.

The other features are stereo speakers, double microphones and a fingerprint reader, Thinkshield Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and Wi-Fi 6. The G56 motorcycle will also benefit from a double IP68 + IP69 certification for resistance to dust and water, as well as MIL-STD-810H certification.

Depending on the , the G56 motorcycle will have a single SIM card (1 nano SIM + microSD card location), a double SIM card (1 Nano SIM + ESIM + Location for microSD card) or a double hybrid SIM card (2 Nano SIM or 1 Nano SIM + Location for microSD card). The phone will be available in Pantone Oyster, Pantone Gray Mits, Pantone Dazzling Blue and Pantone Dill.

The surprising detail of this document is the software support. It turns out that the duration of the Moto G56 software support will depend on the RAM. The 4 GB RAM variant will benefit from one year of operating system updates and 3 years of bimonthly security updates, while the 8 GB variant of RAM will benefit from 2 years of operating system updates and 4 years of bimonthly safety updates.

If it is not uncommon for certain features of a telephone or tablet to be limited to certain Variants of RAM, like the G56 motorcycle which limits its Smart Connect function to the variant 8 GB of RAM, it seems that it is the time that the duration of the software support has been differentiated according to the memory variant. It remains to be seen how fans of the brand will react to this , but we can bet that many will not be satisfied.
