Morocco has found a major ally in North Africa to increase its exports. It is Egypt, a country very close to Europe and Asia with a population of more than 100 million inhabitants.
The Moroccan authorities unveiled their ambition this Sunday, May 4, 2025, on the X account of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Morocco.
North Africa: Morocco wants to reach a total of exports to Egypt of around $ 500 million
The Egyptian-Moroccan investment and trade forum has started today in Cairo, in the presence of officials, economic players and businessmen from the two countries.
This forum, placed under the theme “A large economic partnership”is part of the visit of Mr. Omar Hejira, Secretary of State to the minister of Industry and Trade in charge of Foreign Trade, and a major Moroccan economic delegation in Cairo, from May 3 to 5, 2025.
This mission was organized in coordination with the State Secretariat in charge of Foreign Trade, by the Moroccan Confederation of Exporters and the General Confederation of Businesses in Morocco.
This visit aims to strengthen the presence of Moroccan products on the Egyptian market and to work to reach a total of Moroccan exports to Egypt of around $ 500 million by 2026.
This forum offers the opportunity to Moroccan and Egyptian companies to explore new horizons in areas with high investment potential.
It allows you to open new opportunities to Moroccan exporters to penetrate the Egyptian market and to forge fruitful partnerships that benefit both parties.
The forum will see the participation of Moroccan companies operating in various export sectors, in particular: agricultural and agrifood industries, automotive industry, electrical and electronic industry, textiles, seafood, energy and renewable energies, pharmaceutical, medical and paramedical, cosmetics and construction sector.
Note that this economic mission in Cairo is an extension of the visit made by the Egyptian minister Hassan al-Khatib in Morocco on February 27, which notably included discussions with a number of Moroccan officials.
The two parties agreed at the time to unify efforts to facilitate trade, increase Moroccan exports to Egypt.
