After years of galley, the history Williams seems to find colors. Thanks to a duo of pilots experienced and managed by James VowlesGrove’s troops have perfectly succeeded in the start of the season.
Authors of interesting winter tests, the British were pointed out as the potential surprise of this season. And Williams perfectly meets expectations with a fifth temporary place in the manufacturers’ championship. The team of Carlos Sainz et Alexander Albon is therefore clearly the “best of the others”, behind the four stables of the top.
Better still, Vowles’ troops even beat Ferrari to the regular this weekend, especially in qualifications since Albon and Sainz finished in front of Charles Leclercwhile Lewis Hamilton was surprised in Q2.
In the race, the Thai has done an excellent job to afford a second top 5 this season. While the former Ferrari driver finished ninth and therefore in the points. It is the second consecutive time that the two cars have finished in the top 10.
Excellent results which therefore result in the championship. In terms of manufacturers, Albon is eighth with 30 points. Or, behind the two McLaren, the two Mercedes and the Red Bull of Max Verstappen. After a slow start to the season in its new colors, the Spaniard is thirteenth with seven gleaned points.
In the manufacturers’ classification, the British brand is therefore fourth, 17 units in front of Haas. The start of the season of Williams is therefore more than successful because, even if they no longer register the slightest point during the remaining races, they would still do better than in the last seven seasons.

Out of seven seasons, Williams finished four times in the last place and once in the penultimate place. Difficult years that Alex Albon has experienced from the inside. Indeed, the former Red Bull driver has been dressed in blue since 2022.
It is therefore an euphoric albon that went to our microphone after the meeting in Florida won par Oscar Plastri. “It’s the most competitive weekend since I was with Williams. We exceeded a Mercedes and two Ferrari. At the end of the race, we caught up a Red Bull. It was a unique weekend. From the first round of free tests, we knew we had a quick car. It’s very special “.
Williams, the second most titled team in the history of F1 with nine coronations of manufacturers, wants to continue its progression and find the summits as it did in the 1980s and 1990s.
