In a letter sent to Prime Minister Mark Carney, Mr. Ford identifies five projects that Ontario considers “edifying for the nation” and which should be prioritized by the federal government.

Ontario Prime Minister Doug Ford asked Prime Minister Mark Carney to support his vision and build the longest tunnel in the world under highway 401. A project which, according to experts, could cost up to $ 120 billion. He also wishes to repeal a federal law which estimates the environmental impact of major projects, according to the Globe and Mail.
Doug Ford says that when March 21 meets, Ottawa asked the provinces to list their most urgent projects. He says that Mark Carney promised to act quickly to cut bureaucracy and accelerate approvals, by adopting a simple approach: “a project, an exam”, which will finally take into account the rules already in place in each province. For Ontario, this includes a new deep water port in James Bay and more GO trains, the public transport service of the Grand Toronto region, in the large region of Toronto.
Ford also relies on a new road and public transport tunnel under the 401. According to him, this project will seriously reduce traffic on the most busy road on the continent. This means fewer traffic jams, more efficiency, and an economy that rolls faster.
