72 hours after the powerful explosion in Bandar Abbasthe opacity of the regime persists and the real magnitude of human and material losses as well as the exact causes of the disaster remain unknown.
Reports signal secondary explosions, the spread of fires and the destruction of buildings in a radius of several kilometers.
Official sources announced until Sunday noon 1,200 injured et 36 dead.
However, the governor of the province of Hormozgan then mentioned 70 deathswhile some witnesses believe that the number of deaths could reach 500.
A few hours after the explosion, Associated Press published an article entitled “Powerful explosion in an Iranian port linked to a cargo of fuel for missiles” :
“While the Iranian authorities have provided no clear explanation on the origin of the explosion in Bandar Abbas, the private maritime security company Ambrey said the port had received a cargo of perchlorate de sodiuma solid fuel for missiles. »»
This fuel came from China and had been sent to Iran by two ships, as the Financial Times in January.
Ambrey added:
“According to reports, the fire would be due to poor management of a solid fuel cargo intended for Iranian ballistic missiles. »»
Associated Press also underlined the misunderstanding as to the fact that the Iranian diet did not move these chemicals from the port, especially in the light of the explosion of the port of Beirut in 2020who had done more than 220 dead et more than 6,000 injured.
The BBC World Service reported that:
“The revolutionary army and guards stored fuel for missiles recently imported from China into the port of Bandar Abbas. »»
And add:
“Citizens wonder how so many flammable matters have been stored without adequate supervision in a civil port. »»
The New York Times also said that:
“The fuel of the ballistic missiles of the revolution guards would be the cause of the explosions in Bandar Abbas. »»
In his article Sunday April 27the newspaper quotes a source close to the guards, who claims that the explosion is due to negligence in the manipulation and storage of the perchlorate de sodiuma compound used to make solid fuel for ballistic missiles.
These elements overlap the conclusions of Ambrey, which had previously announced that it had found evidence of inadequate storage of sodium perchlorate in Bandar Abbas.
Testimonies on the ground
Report of a citizen of Bandar Abbas :
The whole city is contaminated. Ammonia and nitrates have invaded the air.
This explosion seems suspicious, especially since elements such as gas candies and petrochemical products – inappropriate for a civilian quay – have been discovered.
The inhabitants are furious. Many believe that if government is proven, popular anger will no longer be contained.
“The body of the revolution guards landed guards at the so -called Rajaei port using helicopters.

Arrival of an “extremely dangerous” cargo under the label of “ordinary goods”
Saeed JafariPDG de Sina Marine and Port Services Developmentconfirmed that the massive explosion was linked to a false declaration of imported cargoes.
“Extremely dangerous” goods had been introduced without the appropriate documents and labels, under the cover of “ordinary goods”.
In accordance with international standards, such materials must be declared officially and complete to customs and port authorities – which has not been done.
Jafari stressed that the power of the explosion revealed the extreme dangerousness of the cargo.

The majority of families are in mourning. The actual number of deaths is estimated between 400 et 500a figure that the diet would seek to hide.
An employee of a transport company reports that a hangar using approximately 40 Balouthes workers has exploded and that the bodies of the victims remain untraceable.
