Dance is king at Mouv’Danse! Based in the Montgeron and Crosne sectors, the association aims to promote all forms of dance within the Val d'Yerres Val de Seine urban community, including salsa, Argentine tango, West Coast swing, rock'n'roll, social dance, bachata, kizomba, tango, waltz , paso, cha cha, quick step, rumba, samba.
More than 400 members
“There is no need to be a professional to join our association. We welcome all practitioners from the initiated to the uninitiated while maintaining the master of order of our structure, conviviality,” confides the president of the structure for more than ten years, Jean-Louis Jacquart, himself fallen in love with this practice and more particularly rock'n'roll. “Basically, my investment was simply limited to helping out occasionally and then, we quickly got caught up in the game and the presidency became like an obvious fact ».
Mouv'Danse is never empty from year to year with a membership of more than 400 members with an average age of fifty years, all distributed in three groups ranging from level 1 for beginners to level 3 for the more experienced.
“This year, we unfortunately had to refuse people. The number of places is limited, and the rooms are not always sized to accommodate a large number of dancers. However, we have around thirty participants per course offered,” explains Jean-Louis Jacquart.
Pilates and muscle strengthening classes also offered
“In parallel with our dance activities, we offer courses pilates, stretching, muscle strengthening and abs and buttocks,” continues the Essonne leader.
“We are also present every year at the association forum of the towns of Montgeron and Crosne,” continues Jean-Louis Jacquart, while recognizing the complexity of mobilizing volunteers for certain actions.
Throughout the year, Mouv'Danse is present on many events like recently the Valentin Telethon (Val-de-Marne) and Crosne.
Practical information: the courses offered run from Monday to Friday from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
