If Camilla Luddington and Jessica Capshaw are now very close, the two stars of Grey’s Anatomy took a long time to appreciate each other. Here’s why !
Did you know that Jessica Capshaw (Arizona) and Camilla Luddington (Jo) didn’t get along at all when they met on the set of Grey’s Anatomy? No ? And yet, it is indeed true! The two actresses took advantage of the launch of their podcast entitled “Call It What it Is” to reveal this incredible anecdote to their fans.
“I doubted everything and especially myself”
Doctor Robbins’ interpreter got straight to the heart of the matter: “I didn’t love you. I really didn’t like you!” She then explains: “What happened was that when I came back to work after having a baby, I was seriously lacking in self-confidence and saw everything as a threat. In those cases, you doubt everything, from everyone and especially from yourself.”
Jessica Capshaw clarifies her thoughts: “Maybe that’s why I failed to see who you really were when I first met you. I was too focused on my own insecurities. I had just returned to filming and people were dazzled by the beauty of the young women who had joined the cast.”
“I realized pretty quickly that you didn’t like me.”
“Maybe I wasn’t feeling my best myself and looking at it all from the outside and seeing these beautiful young women, I decided I wasn’t going to like you” she admitted with sincerity. For her part, Camilla Luddington confirms: “I realized pretty quickly that you didn’t like me.”
The one who lends her features to Jo returns to the incident that changed everything: “The production brought a food truck to the set. I took a photo with the intention of posting it on Twitter and thanking everyone. But someone wasn’t a fan of the idea.”
She explains : “You were eating a burger like everyone else in the background but you told me I didn’t ask you if I could post the photo before doing it. I was horrified at what I did because I was new and terrified. It was Jessica Capshaw after all, and I thought you hated me for a burger!”
Fortunately, things improved when the two of them met at a sushi restaurant. Other members of the cast who canceled at the last minute: “We fell in love with each other at that moment.” A great story, right?
