Jean Ferrat and Colette Laffont had a long love story

It was at the beginning of the 1970s that Colette Laffont made meeting Jean Ferrat. At that time, the interpreter of The mountain had come to her aid when she was broken down. Afterwards, the couple never left each other’s side.

While Jean Ferrat’s first wife, Christine Sèvres, died of cancer in 1981, the singer decided to remarry after 20 years of love. In 1992, his marriage to Colette Laffont was celebrated. Together, they decided to settle in Antraigues-sur-Volane, a small Ardèche village, far from the media hustle and bustle.

Colette Laffont continued to maintain the memory of Jean Laffont

Throughout her husband’s career, Colette Laffont remained her biggest supporter. A role that she continued to play, even after her death on March 13, 2010. Indeed, three years after the death of Jean Ferrat, his widow had imagined and inaugurated the Jean Ferrat House, in Antraigues-sur-Volane. In 2015, she then published a book of memories, Jean a man who sings in my heart.

After the announcement of the death of Colette Laffont, Maison Jean Ferrat wanted to pay homage to him. “She shared Jean’s life for more than 40 years with a love that never wavered. Both were accomplices and complementary” underlined the institution. A beautiful message about the one who will forever remain the singer’s last love.
