In the count of Monte Cristo, a film inspired by the work of Alexandre Dumas, Pierre Niney is Edmond Dantès. The victim of a conspiracy, the latter is arrested on his wedding day for a crime he did not commit. After fourteen years of detention at the Château d’If off the coast of Marseille, he managed to escape. Having become immensely rich, he returns under the identity of the Count of Monte Cristo to take revenge on the three men who betrayed him. If the actor in this film plays opposite Laurent Lafitte and Bastien Bouillon and plays lovers with Anaïs Demoustier, pregnant with her second child, it is with his partner, the Australian photographer Natasha Andrews, that he spends happy days on a farm far from Paris with their two daughters, Lola and Billie.

This Wednesday, May 22, the couple climbed the steps for this 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival and the out-of-competition presentation of the film The count of Monte Cristo. Other stars were expected. On the other hand, one person was not, namely an activist who crashed the red carpet before being caught by security agents. A sequence captured in photos (see our slideshow), which can vaguely make us think of the interruption of the 2023 Césars by an environmental activist from the association Dernier renovation, who was invited on stage, opposite Ahmed Sylla and Léa Drucker.

Artus and Carole Bouquet on the red carpet

Scenes which are therefore to be expected, at least to be envisaged, in this type of event. What matters is that there was apparently no overflow, and that the climb of the steps was able to resume its course as if nothing had happened. It was not even interrupted, because the appearances multiplied on the red carpet. We were notably able to count on those of Artus, who came to A little something extraby Carole Bouquet with her son Dimitri Rassam and her granddaughter Darya, or that of Julie de Bona.

As a reminder, the Palme d’Or will be awarded next Saturday. But the count of Monte Cristo is presented in the Out of Competition selection.
