Urfan Sharif was sentenced to life in prison for torturing and killing his daughter. He was attacked on January 1 in his prison by two fellow inmates with the sharp lid of a can of tuna.
Urfan Sharif, recently sentenced to life in prison in London for torturing and killing his daughter Sara, was attacked by two inmates at Belmarsh prison, the British daily reported on Friday The Sun. The two men attacked Urfan Sharif, 43, on January 1 with the sharp lid of a can of tuna, cutting him in the face and neck, the tabloid said. Sara, a 10-year-old Anglo-Pakistani girl, was beaten to death in August 2023 after years of mistreatment, the details of which, revealed at the trial, shocked the British.
London police have confirmed they are investigating the assault of a “43-year-old prisoner, whose injuries are not life-threatening” at Belmarsh high security prison, south-east London. A prison administration spokesperson also confirmed the attack on a prisoner without identifying him.
«Torture»
The father and stepmother of Sara Sharif, child martyr, Beinash Batool, aged 30, were sentenced in mid-December to life in prison in London for the murder of the little girl. The trial of these torturers shocked the United Kingdom, both because of the violence inflicted on Sara and because of the missed opportunities that could have saved her. “It is no exaggeration to describe it as torture”what the little girl endured, declared the judge, recalling one by one the unbearable abuse that was inflicted on her. Sara's uncle Faisal Malik, 29, who lived with the couple in Woking (south-west London), was sentenced to 16 years in prison for having “caused or made possible his death”.
