The FBI ends the year 2024 on a record with the discovery of more than 150 homemade bombs on a farm in Virginia, in the western United States, the largest seizure of this type in the history of the American federal police , according to court documents.
Intervening after a report from a concerned neighbor, the police found the explosives while searching the house of Brad Spafford, a married man and father of two young children, specify these documents filed Monday December 30, 2024 and which the American media reported the echo Tuesday December 31, 2024.
The homemade bombs were found inside a backpack in a bedroom, according to the same source. An explosive was even stored in a freezer next to the food and labeled “Do not touch”.

The suspect, a machine shop employee, notably used photos of President Joe Biden as target practice for shooting and supported political assassination as a method of action, according to court documents. Investigators also found a notebook ” recipes “ to make explosives like grenades.
A neighbor told FBI agents that Brad Spafford had discussed the possibility of equipping his house with “a 360 degree turret for a 50 caliber gun on the roof”.

The suspect was charged with illegal possession of a rifle and would likely face additional charges for possession of explosives, punishable by up to ten years in prison, according to prosecutors.
In a separate document filed Tuesday, Brad Spafford's lawyers requested his release, describing him as “a good father who works hard and has no criminal record”.
