The Week of Service initiated by AstraZeneca highlights the commitment of this international biopharmaceutical firm to creating a positive societal impact and promoting sustainability as part of its corporate responsibility initiatives.
AstraZeneca employees across Africa celebrated Community Service Week and the promotion of sustainability. Across the Africa hub, they contributed a total of 1,600 hours of service, with approximately 200 employees volunteering their time to various causes.
In Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Ghana, Kenya and South Africa, agents organized and participated, throughout the week, in various activities aimed at strengthening the resilience of communities, supporting education of children and to promote environmental protection.
The Week of Service was marked by a series of important initiatives, including donations to local orphanages, environmental cleanup efforts, education support and mentoring activities for children in disadvantaged communities.
In Côte d'Ivoire, the team purchased school kits for students and donated them to the NGO ” The Goofs of Happiness », with the aim of supporting access to education for young learners.
