Before talking to you in detail about François Bayrou, let's start with what we certainly weren't expecting but will ultimately be happy to receive: news from Place publique, this movement co-founded in 2018 by Raphaël Glucksmann and intended to fight against the division of the left. That was a clear line. But this is no longer the case today and the movement is seriously floundering.
According to our information, the national co-referent of Jeunes Place publique, Anaïta David, announced her resignation yesterday. “I wanted to leave as soon as the negotiations around the NFP and the lack of goodwill from Place publique to participate”explains the one who was number 1 among young PPs for a year. This lack of “goodwill” is embodied according to her by Glucksmann, now almost the sole master on board the movement which intended “shake up the political field”even if, in the end, Place publique had indeed participated in the Avengers of the Left circa 2024. “But from now on, we are no longer in the decisions of the NFPcontinues David. There are no internal consultations: the position of Place publique is that of Glucksmann. And then his interviews where he hits on all the party leaders, it's distressing. Everyone has somewhat forgotten that we were created to unite the left.”
After three years at Place publique, Anaïta David decided to get up, break away and join Génération·s, the party founded in 2017 by Benoît Hamon. This is the advantage of the left: given the number of chapels, we are rarely without a fixed movement.
