The famous 5-star hotel in Marrakech is celebrating its centenary by retaining its green identity in the heart of a 15-hectare estate.

La Mamounia, the legendary five-star hotel in Marrakech, has just celebrated its 100th anniversary. The opportunity to inaugurate a new decor, designed by the architect duo Patrick Jouin and Sanjit Manku, which brings the Marrakech hotel into the light. Literally and figuratively, since the hall is now adorned with an XXL chandelier, a magnificent light sculpture of 5,000 pieces of glass and silver, combining several necklaces intertwined from the ceiling. Three months of work and nearly three hundred craftsmen intervened on the pharaonic construction site to reinvent the myth without disrupting it.

The centenary chandelier of La Mamounia dazzles upon entry.

First mission for the duo of interior designers: to bring the sun from the entrance to the gardens, via the new Majorelle bar, adorned with giant mirrors and open to the outside. The former French restaurant becomes Italian. Led by chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Moroccan cuisine flourishes in the garden; the intimate Churchill bar is dressed in smoked oak and black marble, adjoining a new intimate cinema room, while a new and spectacular wine library accommodates more than 2000 bottles. The experience would not be complete without a 2,500 m² 1001 Nights Spa with indoor heated swimming pool and Valmont and Augustinus Bader treatments. Memorable.
