Thrown from a golf cart: New mother won’t see her daughter grow up

A new mother from Maryland, who gave birth to her first baby only in September, is believed to have died Monday following a nasty golf cart accident over the weekend.

«Mary Beth [Blasetti] brought joy to so many and had a large community of friends and family who are devastated by his sudden passing […] Her absence will be deeply felt by all those who knew her,” we can read in a GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign, created on Tuesday.

On Saturday, the 32-year-old new mother was riding a golf cart near a club members’ course in Maid Marion Hill, Maryland, when she was allegedly thrown from the small vehicle, the newspaper reported. “New York Post” Thursday.

According to what police told local television station WJZ, the 30-year-old was only a passenger in the cart driven by another woman, who suddenly encountered a dip in the ground.

The new mother was reportedly rushed to a hospital where she fought for her life throughout the weekend, before succumbing to her injuries on Monday.

At present, the death is being treated as an accident, and it is unclear whether other elements, such as speed, could have played a role in this case, although an investigation has been opened by the Anne Arundel County police, according to the “Post.”

“This is an extremely tragic and unfortunate situation,” department spokesman Justin Mulcahy told WJZ. Our hearts go out to everyone affected and we will continue to investigate with the State Attorney’s Office just to determine what exactly happened here.”

A crowdfunding campaign was set up by a relative of Mary Beth Blasetti, to provide financial assistance to her husband, Nick Blasetti, and her two-month-old baby, Mary Katharine, who will have to navigate the immense loss.

In addition to welcoming their first child, the couple recently purchased their first home together in Annapolis, according to the campaign, which had already reached US$276,810 as of Thursday.
