Drama in Mexico: Their romantic evening in a jacuzzi turns into horror

What was supposed to be a sweet moment of relaxation after a beautiful day of vacation turned into a nightmare on June 11 in a hotel in Puerto Peñasco (Baja California). Wanting to enjoy the sunset, Jorge Guillen and his wife Lizette Zambrano slipped into the establishment’s jacuzzi to admire the spectacle. But barely had he entered the water when the American was exposed to “an electric current” which devastated him, we can read in the complaint filed by his wife.

Distraught, Lizette rushed from the edge of the pool to catch her beloved, but the unfortunate woman was electrified when she touched Jorge’s body as well as the water, explains People. Other customers who arrived in a hurry managed to get the young woman out of the water, but their attempts to rescue her husband were in vain, the electric shocks continuing to rage. According to witnesses, it took 10 minutes for staff to turn off the jacuzzi and try to help the victims.

“It’s absolutely terrifying. Not a single employee did anything, while Jorge was shocked again and again underwater,” protested lawyer Tej Paranjpe. According to the complaint filed, the hotel knew that the electrical connections to the jacuzzi were defective, but nothing was done to avoid a tragedy. The widow, seriously injured, is demanding more than a million dollars in damages from the Mexican establishment. “This tragedy deprived Lizette of the love and companionship of her husband, as well as the right to his affection, comfort and assistance,” denounces her lawyer.
