The holidays turned into a tragedy for this American couple. As reported by the New York Post, the two vacationers were enjoying the jacuzzi at a private seaside resort in Mexico on Tuesday June 11.
The woman in critical condition
A relative of the couple became concerned after noticing that neither of them was moving inside the hot tub.
Emergency services could only note the death of the 43-year-old man. The woman suffered severe burns and was taken to hospital in critical condition.

This tragedy caused a stir around the basin. Several vacationers had just come out of this jacuzzi when the tragedy occurred.
According to initial information, the victims had burns indicating that they had been victims of electrocution. Before the ongoing investigation confirms it, it is probably a fault in the jacuzzi which is the cause of the incident.
A similar case in Canada
A similar accident occurred in Canada in September 2022. A 25-year-old young man was electrocuted in a collective jacuzzi. A problem with the electrical panel may have caused the tragedy.
Accidents inside jacuzzis are rare, but they still cause an average of 80 deaths per year in the United States. In the vast majority of cases, these are drownings.
