In Tokyo, the Japanese government reported that North Korea fired a projectile believed to be a ballistic missile, which crashed into the sea outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.

Pyongyang said it tested the“the most powerful strategic weapon in the world”presenting the shot as a warning to enemies threatening North Korean security. These missile tests fuel tensions with the United States and its allies, concerned by the presence of thousands of North Korean soldiers in Russiasome of whom would be deployed near the border withUkraine.
