In June 2019, at their Essex home, Virginia first poisoned her 70-year-old father by crushing medicines and adding them to his alcoholic drinks. The next day, she killed her mother, 71, by hitting her with a hammer and stabbing her repeatedly with a kitchen knife. After these murders, Virginia continued a seemingly normal life, hiding the corpses in the family home. For her father, she made a makeshift grave in his bedroom, covering it with blankets and decorations.

Her mother was wrapped in a sleeping bag and hidden in a closet. During this time, Virginia lied to medical professionals and relatives, justifying her parents’ absences with fictitious trips. The lie ended on September 15, 2023, when police forced entry to the house after concerns from doctors. Virginia confessed during her arrest, saying she knew this would happen and had to serve her time.

The prosecutor said the murder had been carefully planned since March 2019, allowing Virginia to benefit from her parents’ pensions, totaling more than 76,000 pounds sterling (around 85,000 euros), part of which was used for gambling. line. The judge emphasized that one of the motives for the murders was to prevent his parents from discovering his lies and theft.
