UA German boat found itself in difficulty in the North Sea due to a power outage on board. He was able to return safely to Germany, with his nearly 250 passengers on board, around 2:30 a.m. Monday.

The ship Funny Girl was returning from a day trip to the German island of Helgoland and was due to return to the port of Büsum in northern Germany when it found itself rudderless.

After several hours, tugboats were able to reach the boat. The boat in difficulty was towed to the German coast. It arrived around 2:30 a.m. Monday morning with nearly 250 passengers on board at the port of Büsum, more than seven hours later than expected, German police confirmed. There were no injuries in the incident.

German newspaper Hamburger Abendblatt reports that the two electricity generators on board the 68-meter boat stopped working shortly before 5:30 p.m.

According to a collaborator, morale remained good on board, while the North Sea was calm overnight from Saturday to Sunday. A crew member even announced that there were “enough beers on board”.
