A cargo ship carrying a highly explosive material is currently sailing in the Channel after several ports have refused to dock.

The cargo ship MV Ruby, which is carrying 20,000 tonnes of ammonium nitrate, a potentially explosive product, is wandering in the English Channel. Several ports refused to allow it to dock due to its dangerous nature.

While it has experienced a series of damages, the Maltese-flagged ship, which is currently off the British coast, is worrying the authorities of several surrounding coastal countries.

The cargo ship belongs to the Maltese company Ruby Enterprise, says the BBC, and is carrying Russian cargo.

A product for making fertilizers or explosives

He left Russia on August 22 and fell victim to a storm and had to dock in a Norwegian port. On September 4, the authorities ordered him to leave the port. He then wanted to dock at a Lithuanian port but this was refused because the cargo ship was damaged, suffering from a propulsion failure, a rudder fault and a damaged hull.

If an accident were to occur, it would be dramatic given the high danger of the product which is used to manufacture fertilizers or explosives.
