GAMBIA-WORLD-ISLAM-DIPLOMACY / President Bassirou Diomaye Faye took part in the work of the 15th OIC Summit – Senegalese Press Agency

Banjul, May 4 (APS) – Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye took part, Saturday, in Banjul, Gambia, in the work of the 15e session of the Conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

After the opening ceremony, the heads of state and government met in a closed session to discuss, among other subjects, the Palestinian question, peace and security, the situation of Muslim communities and minorities in non-member States, legal, humanitarian, social, cultural, economic, scientific and technological, media, administrative and financial matters of the OIC.

The Senegalese head of state arrived in Banjul early in the morning.

Bassirou Diomaye Faye should make a communication on Sunday, the last day of the Summit, we learned from those close to him.

The 15th OIC Summit, whose theme is: ”Promoting unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development”, is being held at the Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Center.

Many voices were raised at the opening of the proceedings to condemn Israeli abuses in the Gaza Strip and to recall the right of the Palestinians to a sovereign state.
