Five skeletons discovered under former home of Hermann Göring, Nazi leader during World War II

Archaeologists have discovered five skeletons under the house where Hermann Göring lived. These were devoid of feet and hands, without it being possible to know whether these limbs had been amputated, or whether these bones had decomposed over time.

Five skeletons were found by a team of researchers led by Oktavian Bartoszewski, under the house of Hermann Göring, a Nazi leader close to Adolf Hitler. These skeletons were devoid of feet and hands, reveal our colleagues from Parisian.

These human bones could be those of a family: they correspond to those of three adults, an adolescent, and an infant. They were found under the floor of Hermann Göring’s former house, located in Poland and nicknamed the “Wolfsschanze”: the “wolf’s den”.

The team of archaeologists had decided to carry out excavations under the floor of the house in question, which had been destroyed since 1945. After finding a skull 10 cm deep, one of them informed the police, who discovered the bones of five people.

Faithful to Adolf Hitler

At this stage, it is not possible to determine whether the absence of feet and hands on these remains is the result of their decomposition, or of amputation. The bodies were also stripped of clothing.

Hermann Göring was the creator of the Gestapo. He and Adolf Hitler, like several other Nazi leaders, spent a long time in K?trzyn, this Polish city during the Second World War.

Hermann Göring was one of Adolf Hitler’s loyal lieutenants. He was tried at the Nuremberg trials, and committed suicide in prison in 1946, just before his execution.
