This six-episode fiction is carried by Cécile Bois who lends her features to Rita, a 50-year-old woman who discovers the infidelity of her husband Olivier, played by Thierry Neuvic. After thirty years of living together, four children and running a business, the Martinet garage, everything collapsed overnight. Rita then takes the initiative to confront her husband’s lover. She thus comes across Olympe (Antonia Desplat, daughter of a great French composer), a manager at Valières, a major French luxury leather goods brand.

Invented for the series Made in France but inspired by traditional and family brands like Hermès, the renowned house Valières has its quarters on the famous avenue Montaigne in Paris in fiction. If the film crews made shots on Avenue Montaigne to give the illusion that the Maison Valières is nestled there, the main setting is actually located in Versailles. More precisely: you will see Cécile Bois and Antonia Desplat moving through the corridors, staircases and sumptuous rooms of the former private mansion of the Countess du Barry. Among the other main settings, Olympe’s apartment is located not far from Place Victor Hugo in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. In episode 4 of Made in Franceanother important setting appears: the Gaillarde tannery. This time, go to Seine-et-Marne! This is the town of Chapelles-Bourbon which is home to an old farmhouse with period wallpaper, a real delight for the decor department of the series. A few dozen meters away stands the Manoir de Beaumarchais, built in 1928 and now a guest house. In the series, all the scenes at the hotel where Rita, Olivier and Olympe spend a night were filmed in this beautiful residence.
