On the set of France 5, the 61-year-old host looked back on some key moments of his long career on television and radio. The one who shares the life of Hugo Manos notably spoke about his years on Europe 1, a radio on which he officiated for 15 years, notably with the cult show We’re going to get in trouble.
First confronted with an archive of his very first television, we discover a very young Laurent Ruquier, “very bad” according to him, and with a hair on his tongue which caused him some difficulty. Asked about this “defect”, Laurent Ruquier made no secret. “Surprisingly, I wasn’t very self-conscious because I didn’t really realize it”he first declared. “Before we really did radio, and at the time I hadn’t done much, we didn’t really get along. And for me it wasn’t a trauma.”

The host, now in charge of the Big Heads from RTL, then shared a fond memory of his first steps on the airwaves… “One day, at Europe 1, a program director called Patrice Blanc-Francard (…) had to tell me, ‘Ah no, no, you’re bad at broadcasting and what’s more, you have a hair on the tongue’ and that’s when I went to see a speech therapist and corrected it a little.he then said.
“I still have it a little bit. It reappears very often in moments of stress: if I have a first… I don’t have stage fright but the hair on my tongue comes back”finally concluded Laurent Ruquier with a smile. And to think that he regularly makes fun of his friend Isabelle Mergault for the same reason!
