Episode after episode, this series – whose initial concept was clearly shaky and already seen – improves. This third part stands out first of all for its visual inventiveness. The composition and originality of the shots regularly tickle the retina and, added to an often rhythmic editing, create a very playful coating for this investigation. A playfulness which is found in the scenario which is based on a primary dynamic “à la” Cluedo before gradually exploring its main protagonists, these investigators who are a little unhinged compared to traditional cops. Characters who, over the course of the episodes, gain more depth and become more and more endearing, far from the caricature into which they often fell at the beginning of Grilled chickens. Far from revolutionizing the genre, this episode is a good moment of entertainment and reveals great promise for the rest of the France 3 series.
